Recruitment, Girlish Number, and Other News

I’ll be using this post to cover a few matters.

First up is Girlish Number, as people have been asking a lot about it in comments, on Ask, IRC, etc. As it stands, due to staff scheduling, and the show’s overall difficulty (and the other-project delays those are creating, see: MahoIku still at TS), we’ll be dropping the TV airing and will pick this show back up for its BDs. It’s a very good show and you should check it out on Crunchyroll.

As a result of this, and quite honestly it’s something we’ve needed to do for a while, we’re actively advertising for TL/TLC, Editor and Typesetter recruits. You can contact a staff member via #gjm-recruits on Rizon IRC, or you can use the Application Form in the menu bar of the website. Experience in each of these positions is preferred, but we are willing to give some general training to Typesetting applicants who hold some promise, as well as advise Editors who show potential.

Right now, I feel that GJM is in a very good place, and while I may be drowning under the sea of BDs that need QCing, I’m glad to have the staff members I have, and I look forward to working on more projects with them, and any of you who may find yourselves applying to join us.

Our apologies for Girlish Number, but priorities have to be taken, and our group can’t handle the strain of a project that challenging at this moment in time. Our other Fall shows are also enjoyable, and if you weren’t already watching them, you should check them out.

Until next time, Fyurie out.

Good Job! Media – Fall 2016

Held this one somewhat to the death with regard to posting it, but hey, here you go, everyone.

So far, we’ve confirmed Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku as a Fall 2016 pick. Who doesn’t love that there’s another magical girl show with a weird twist? Here’s hoping it does okay. We’ll determine whether keeping this on AT-X is worthwhile or not, depending on whether the first episode contains any content that might be censored. Doubt it though.

Next up on the list is Flip Flappers. There was a lot of interest from various staff members for this, largely for sakuga reasons. This show will be a joint with DameDesuYo. We look forward to working with their shared staff for this show!

Last, but not least, is Girlish Number. Unless any changes to the simulcasting schedule from this show are made (read: CR picks it up instead of the shitlords at TAN who currently have it on a 6-day delay), this will likely be an original TL. I don’t know what to expect from this kind of show, but I’m looking forward to working with the staff of this project.

That’s everything for now, but we’ll be tweeting out future releases and other useful news, so be sure to follow us at @goodjobmedia on Twitter!

Hope you’re looking forward to our Fall 2016 picks!

Good Job! Media – Summer 2016

With Spring mostly over, here are our picks for Summer 2016.

First up is Orange. This will be an in-house original translation project. The studio’s staff for the show looks very good, and I hear the source material is also pretty great. Looking forward to it.

Our other project will be Rewrite. We’ll be doing this as a joint project with Asenshi. Given the latest Key track record, we’ll just hope for the best here. Rewrite was a decent VN though, so who knows?

Other than that, we’ll be working on yet more Akagami and Erased, and I’ll be fighting my never-ending battle to reach the end of GJM’s BD backlog!

Hope you’ve all enjoyed the ride so far, and that you look forward to our Summer shows!

Good Job! Media – Spring 2016

     TanakaProject     HaifuriProject

Some issues with Mayoiga resulted in us changing projects. A slightly different team is now doing Space Patrol Luluco instead.

Next up is Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge. Looks like a pretty comfortable show. Should be a pretty chill ride.

And last, but not least, is Haifuri. We’ll be doing this project as another joint with Vivid. We’re glad to work with them again, and hope that more project opportunities arise in the future, too.

With Spring’s (current) picks out of the way, we’ll clear up some lingering matters.

Firstly, Erased is making steady progress toward completion, and its chief stalling member is not picking up any new shows for the Spring season. Expect significant progress towards completing this during Spring, along with BDs at a later date.

Same goes for Akagami. Its editor is a very busy person and is making time when he can to work on it. That said, he has allowed for deadlines to be set, and failing to meet those means that an editor change occurs and I push the project forward myself.

I’ll be looking to move some of GJM’s BD backlog forward this season, if possible, as well as attempting to release an unannounced, ORIGINAL, BD project by the end of the season, if circumstances allow for it.

That’s all for now. Feel free to leave feedback and hold discussions in the comments, but the usual site rules do apply. Cleanups will happen if you get too rowdy, so stay civil.

Good Job! Media – Winter 2016

This one’s a bit earlier than usual, but I’ll be away for half of December so I had to get it finished before that happened. I’ll be leaving GJM in the hands of the staff to finish Lucifer and Sakurako-san while I’m away. Hopefully I don’t return to a bloodbath!

With that said, I’ll move on to the Winter picks.

Starting with the expected, we’ll be picking up the remainder of God Eater, and continuing on with the second cour of Akagami no Shirayuki-hime. Our schedule for Akagami has been really sketchy for the first half, and I’m hoping we’ll be able to rectify that somewhat. Regardless of the outcome, we’re still committed to finishing the entire show.

Moving onto the actual Winter shows, we’re going to be doing Boku Dake ga Inai Machi as a joint project with eraser, offering them TLC, TS, timing and QC assistance.

Next up is our in-house project, Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm. Our newly-hired TLC, ChiKuwaParfait, who worked on Lucifer, was rather interested in doing this based on the contents of the VN, and it certainly does look like it has a decent premise.

And last, but not least, we’ll be doing Haruchika ~Haruta to Chika wa Seishun Suru~. This show will be a joint project with Vivid, with us offering TL/TLC, TS and QC assistance.

Each show is worked on by largely independent teams, so in all reasonable circumstances, their schedules shouldn’t get too questionable.

This season looks like it’s really going to be something worth watching, and I’m looking forward to working on these projects here at GJM.

I hope you’ll all enjoy our picks, and their resulting releases.

Blu-Ray Projects – An Appeal

Hey everyone.

I don’t normally do this as almost every airing show’s BD raws make it online in some form, but it’s been a while since Akagami Vol.1 went on sale and there is still no sign of it being planned for upload on any public or private trackers. Vol.2 should also be on sale around now, too.

Purchasing missing Blu-ray volumes is a large part of the reason that GJM has Flattr and Paypal support links set up. If you’d like to see us release Akagami no Shirayuki-hime on BD instead of our awful TV raws, then consider putting a small sum towards helping us to buy the volumes. No amount is too great or too small, so don’t feel obliged to pitch in any particular amount, or even to pitch in at all.

Alternatively, if you’d prefer to purchase the Blu-ray volumes yourselves and supply us with a rip of them, you’re more than welcome to do that, but please contact Fyurie on #goodjob on irc.rizon.net to learn how to do this in the correct fashion so as to allow us to use your rip for BD encoding purposes.

Finally, in the interest of transparency regarding any potential future PayPal donations, anything we receive will be charted out in a Google document that I will add to the “support us” widget if/when we receive our first donation.

Thanks for reading.

Good Job! Media – Fall 2015

LuciferProject     SakurakoProject

With Summer mostly over, it’s about time I posted our Fall picks so here goes.

We’ll be doing Comet Lucifer and Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru during the Fall 2015 airing season.

Comet Lucifer is an in-house project, and Sakurako-san is a joint with our buddies over at FFF.

We hope that you’ll enjoy these shows, and will look forward to our releases!

Here’s to another (hopefully) solid season of anime.

EDIT Oct 17th 2018: Pinning this once again to buff up our banner collection to include more of our recent shows!

I’m reaching out to the graphically-inclined visitors who may like to contribute to our collection so I can set multiple on rotation.

The dimensions are 1000×375. You’re welcome to use transparency if you like, too. Preferring banners that use content from shows we’re doing/have done, but anything is game as long as it remains SFW.

Current contributors include:
– Squiggy
– Pikminiman
– pikopika
– Areki
– QuatroMagus
– Laxx
– Nere
– Keeko
– Sophie

If your name happens to be missing and you see one of your banners in rotation, please contact us right away.

Much love to anyone who decides to chip in!
