Kaguya-sama: Love is War

So this took much, much longer than we expected, but a lot of it was also scheduling issues. The good news is that episode 2 is almost ready (I’ve been told the remaining few signs should be done by Sunday). Since we have so many typesetters on the project (4 on episode 1, 6 on episode 2) we were able to split the work in such a way that both episodes were being typeset at the same time, which should allow us to maybe catch up if episode 3 has less signs (please, God, Buddha, Myne, give us a break!).

Finally, now is the moment everyone has been waiting for. Believe me, as much as all of you were frustrated waiting for the last episode, I don’t think anyone was as frustrated as us staff. I translated this episode ages ago, and really wanted to finally get it out, but, you know, sometimes things just don’t go as planned.

With the last episode out of the way (and the PV episode following most likely tomorrow), we’re preparing for S3. We’ll be officially announcing our Spring 2022 plans very soon, but I can already tell you that we’ve got a completely new set of typesetters (really good typesetters who you might recognize from some of our other projects, like Aquatope) to ensure that nothing goes wrong during S3. While we obviously can’t guarantee that we’ll get through Season 3 with no unforeseen delays, we’re doing everything we can to ensure that the S2 situation doesn’t repeat itself.

At long last, the OVA is complete. Huge thanks to Medex for taking the reins on this show’s remaining typesetting content.

With that said though, we’d like to apologize for the delays surrounding this OVA’s, S2 Ep12’s, and the S3 PV’s respective releases. We had initially planned, on guidance from iFanz around his impending (at the time of asking) availability, to wait for him to return “soon” with his basically-complete work and wrap these up. As we can all tell, that never materialized. In light of that, freeing up one of our TSers from other projects allowed them to do the work over themselves and finally progress the projects toward their eventual completion.

With the OVA done, Medex is now working on Episode 12’s typesetting, and once THAT is done, he’ll do the S3 PV. We hope to be done with both of those over the coming few weeks, with time to spare before S3 starts. When S3 airs, we’ll be assigning several typesetters to the project with the goal of maintaining a weekly (and if not, reasonably consistent) schedule for the whole show this time.

Anyways, that’s all to be said on the topic of Kaguya for now. Thanks to everyone who has patiently waited through this disaster for these episodes to finally see the light of day. We look forward to experiencing S3 with all of you.

Just one more episode left now, and at long last, the series will be complete, at least until a date for season 3 is announced.

As previously mentioned, yes, we’re doing the OVA once we can get access to a proper rip of the DVD it comes on. Kaguya S2 12 might not be done before the OVA starts being worked on, but will be focused on once the OVA work is completed.
