Irozuku Sekai no Ashita kara – Episode 05

So, uh, about that decent release timetable…

We’ll catch back up though. November’s been a rough month for the staff on Irozuku, between illness, work, and studying.

Apologies for the delays.

Good Job! Media

  1. Thanks for the episode. Is there any chance of getting a patch to fix the language so it is eng, ass like the other episodes. The new episode defaults to the no subtitled track on my player because the eng subtitled track was not labeled.

    • This isn’t something that we’d generally patch an entire episode for. It can, if you have MKVToolNix, be quickly resolved with a remux, though.

I can provide an unofficial patch for you in the comments if you’re unsure how to do this.

Said patch would be invalid against any possible batch-included patch files, however.

      • Thanks I dont need it fixed right now if you keep it in mind during the batch that would be enough I know how it manually change the tracks so its not a big deal for single watch it only is annoying when you are watching several episodes back to back and one pops up with no subs

        • I’ve already fixed it in my MKVToolNix config for batch/BD, I did that right after you reported it, so that’s all good here.

  2. Personally. I think you guys are still doing great job. Sakurada reset and Uma musume didn’t have this luxury. We should be grateful this season episodes aren’t far behind their actual release date.

Btw I loved Twitter thumbnail for this episode

  3. Hi. Maybe there was something lost in translation, but why was Asagi particularly angry about Shou bringing fried food to the party? From the way she said it, it seems to have more deeper meaning than a hate for fried stuff.

    • It is pretty nonsensical in Japanese too, hilariously, but after much research, it came down to it being about calling him so dense (that referring to him not realizing Asagi likes him and he’s sitting there telling her to be more like Hitomi) that he’d bring fried food to a tea party.

I mean, come on, who brings fried food to a party meant for tea and biscuits?

The very literal version is something along the lines of “Shou, things like this are why you make tables brown”. Which on its own without taking context into account for the translation is legitimately just gibberish. There isn’t an entirely perfect way to handle it but we wanted to get it across to the viewer somewhat that she was calling him dense without actually calling him dense.

For reference, the line is: 「将くんって、そんなんだからテーブルの上も茶色にしちゃうんです」. Machine-translation can tell you how dumb that line is even. >.>

      • Ahh, thanks for the explanation. Yeah, now that you mentioned it I guess that scene was to emphasis how insensitive Shou was. But it also implied that his friends knew Asagi likes him. Quite exciting how they are gonna carry these dynamics forward.
