To Aru Kagaku no Railgun T – 06v2 Update

Shortly after releasing episode 6 of Railgun T, we were made aware of a major translation error around 10 minutes into the episode. The specifics of this can be found on this post: https://nyaa.si/view/1222005#com-6.

Many thanks to Razorhead and their regular contributions to our To Aru projects with specialized information.

As a result of this feedback, we made the decision to release an updated version of the episode as this mistake could cause plotline confusion for less savvy To Aru viewers.

We hold ourselves to a higher standard and apologize for allowing this to reach a release. Thank you for your understanding.

A patch file to update your existing Railgun T 06 can be found HERE.

If you’d prefer to re-download the file from scratch, that can be done using the links below or visiting the previous 06 release post which now has updated information.

If you encounter any playback issues with a GJM release, please make sure you are using the most recent version of MPC and xysubfilter, or mpv.
It is highly recommended that you use mpv.
Please note that there may be minor rendering differences between MPC/xysubfilter and mpv.

  1. Thanks!

So that patch works fine if you know how to run xdelta from the command prompt, but the batch doesn’t work if your folder name has any spaces in it…

  2. Hello. About Eizoken.
Guys, I appreciate your focus on perfection, but I think it would be better if you released the newer episodes without typeset charts first and then release updated versions with typeset charts whenever they’re done. Otherwise most people won’t get to see your translations at all because they watched CR’s.

    • Except Eizouken’s actually been held up by Olynn on QC for the past four days. Olynn? Ooooooooooolynnnnnnnnnn…

tl;dr if you’re note a fansubber, your ideas for making fansubbers go faster are not going to work, in the same way that your brilliant ideas for curing cancer are not going to work if you’re not a medical researcher.

  3. Wait, I have it! I know how to make fansubs faster!

Everyone knows that fansubbing is 90% pestering people to do their job until they finally do it. We can save ourselves from that entire process.

First, find one of those people who are always hanging around the group desperate to get in, talking about how they’re “willing to do anything” and who seem to be just always online but obviously have no talent whatsoever (and usually barely speak English). Tell them they’re on the team as “Backup.”

Next, for each project simply set a deadline for each task. If the deadline isn’t met, the task will automatically go to the Backup, whose work will go to release without additional QC. There will be no public indication of which tasks were done by the primary team member and which tasks were done by the Backup.

Since the only thing fansubbers hate more than doing work is seeing their names attached to embarrassing work, this system will bring procrastination down to zero in practically no time at all! The only possible pitfall I can see in this concept is the danger that the Backup will figure out that they’re actually on the team as a threat and not as a respected resource, but I’m confident that most people qualified to be a Backup would never come to this realization.

  4. Since the (linux) patch script says:

    > Please either make sure the file “xdelta3” has execute rights, install xdelta3 [recommended], or install WinE.

The script should actually prefer the installed version of xdelta3 over the bundled executables.
