Yakusoku no Neverland – Episode 01

Good show. Looking forward to continuing working on this.

Aniplex (which is what’s on CR and Wakanim) and Aniplus (which seems to be Aniplex-based, with an apparent edit/light TLC pass) are both decent but lack in different departments, we’ll continue using a CR base with our own TLC pass using Japanese closed captions from Fuji TV.

Should also be able to expect a faster release for next episode and onward now that we’ve sorted out songs and encode sources, as well as a TLC/Edit workflow that was ruined by the early airing of this episode.

If you encounter any playback issues with a GJM release, please make sure you are using the most recent version of CCCP, or mpv.
Please note that there may be minor rendering differences between CCCP and mpv.

    • We extract them from the .ts recording of the TV broadcast for this show. They’re included with the particular station this show airs on, especially during the NoitaminA block.

  1. When even one of the official sources doesn’t trust the other and feels the need to correct it, you know why we still need fansubs like these… :D

  2. I really admire your dedication but would it be possible to “tweak” the OP lyrics a bit? They’re somewhat hard to read.

    • We’ll look into it. Some things just will be less readable because of line length versus time, even if we applied no styling at all.

We’ve sped up the entrance and transition and reduced the y-axis movements of the letters, though, that should help.

  3. I think OP is just fine. I like how creative it is.
Also is the .ts you extract is in jp and you translate it or is it already in en? Thanks.

    • For our closed captions? They’re in Japanese.

They’re what the broadcaster provides to display subtitles on Japanese television.

We just extract them and use them to check our own translation against their Japanese subtitles.
